Collaborating

A few weeks ago, I was planning a trip to my home town.  I had for some time admired the photos and projects of  Becky Wallace, so on a whim, I sent her a message even though we had never met in person (we are mutual instagram followers) asking if she'd be interested in a swapping her skills for a few pots.  She enthusiastically agreed.  My timing was fortuitous, as she had a shoot planned for the next day with Felice Kamminga. The result - a perfect mash up of styling, handmade pottery, and delicious food and recipes.

While I am so thrilled with her beautiful photos, I was even more gratified to have to had a little time to talk with her about the challenges of sending our work out into the world and putting a value on it; how much we both appreciate when someone else appreciates what we do; and the community that is built when we share our work with others.
