Not about pots - but I (we all) need your help.

There haven’t been as many hours spent in my studio lately, even though my studio is in my home, and even though I’m fully stocked with clay and other supplies. Like many of us, I’ve been obsessed with reading the news. I’m dismayed, shocked, angered at the leadership in this country. I find it unbelievable that we don’t have sufficient supplies and equipment and tests in our health centers and hospitals.

In my tiny town of 7000 people, 36 people in a nursing home 1-mile from my house have tested positive and 3 have died and there is dam little I can do about it.

But I can help change the future.

I belong to group of activists in Williamstown called Greylock Together, and we’ve teamed up with a group of people in the Boston area who call themselves Force Multiplier to host fundraisers on Zoom. The first one will be a talk about how the pandemic will affect the November election. Two Williams College professors, Jim Mahon and Nicole Mellow, will share their knowledge and guide our discussion.

You are all welcome to join. We are suggesting that people make a donation to participate in the zoom session ($20 or $50 or whatever you can). You can do that through ActBlue: MAKE A CONTRIBUTION.

We’ll send you the details on how to connect to Zoom. The Zoom event will be on Thursday, April 9th at 5 pm to 6 pm.

The funds we raise will go to support 5 senate seats (ME, MN, IA, NC, CO) where we think we can make a difference. Don’t you want a Democratic Senate in November? You can donate even if you can’t join our event.

Now I’m off to sew some masks for a friend’s small business.

Please be in touch if you have ideas on what to do, just want to talk or are looking for ways to help.

Be safe.

Steph
